Driver / Installation Assistant Some Exciting NEWS!!! We are HIRING!!! We have a new Driver / Installation Assistant position available We are looking for a hardworking, physically fit Driver & Installation Assistant. This is not just a driving role. You will drive a bakkie with a trailer to collect stock from city suppliers and deliver it to clients in Carletonville. Once on-site, you will sometimes be responsible for manually offloading and installing blinds and assembling furniture for our clients.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
• Driving & Logistics: Safe operation of a bakkie towing a loaded trailer between city suppliers and Carletonville.
• Heavy Lifting: Manually loading, securing, and offloading heavy stock, furniture components, and installation materials.
• On-site Installation: Assembling furniture and mounting/installing blinds neatly and professionally at client premises.
• Admin & Customer Service: Verifying stock against supplier invoices, securing client signatures on Proof of Delivery (POD) forms, and maintaining a polite, professional demeanor.
• Vehicle Care: Doing daily pre-trip checks on both the bakkie and the trailer (tyres, lights, couplings).
Requirements
Requirements:
• Licence & Permit: Valid South African Code B (Code 08) or Code EB driver's licence
• Towing Experience: Proven, confident experience towing and reversing a trailer.
• Handyman Skills: Experience using basic hand and power tools (drills, spirit levels, screwdrivers) to install blinds and assemble furniture.
• Physical Fitness: Excellent physical health and strength, as a large amount of heavy manual lifting is required daily.
• Route Knowledge: Familiarity with Johannesburg supplier areas and Carletonville routes.
