About the Role:
Develop, test, validate and continuously improve raise borer mechanical systems and components.
Transform concepts and designs into reliable, manufacturable and field-ready equipment solutions.
Manage prototypes, testing and validation to ensure performance, safety and quality.
Conduct failure analysis, root cause investigations and implement improvement solutions.
Provide engineering support during manufacturing and commissioning.
Work closely with Engineering, Workshop, Operations, Supply Chain and Suppliers.
Document designs, specifications and engineering data accurately.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
BEng / BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
Registration as Candidate Engineer with ECSA advantageous.
Minimum 5–8 years' experience in mechanical engineering, product development, equipment design or heavy industrial environments.
Proven experience in mechanical design, prototyping, testing and product development.
Experience with mining, drilling, mobile equipment or heavy mechanical systems.
Valid Driver's Licence.
Willingness to travel to operational sites locally and internationally.
Medically fit for site and underground work.
English proficiency required.
Added Advantages:
Experience with raise boring or underground mining equipment.
Hydraulic system design and troubleshooting.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA).
Project management experience.
Exposure to reliability engineering methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
