Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
Safely operate winding engines and associated equipment in accordance with mine standards, procedures, and legal requirements.
Transport employees, materials, and equipment safely through the mine shaft.
Conduct prescribed pre-operational inspections and checks before operating the winding engine.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements:
Grade 10 / Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
Valid Winding Engine Driver Certificate of Competency applicable to the operation.
Valid Blasting Certificate.
Minimum 3 years' proven experience as a Winding Engine Driver in an underground mining environment.
Sound knowledge of mine winding systems, shaft operations, and applicable safety procedures.
Good understanding of the Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA) and relevant regulations.
Ability to identify and report abnormal operating conditions or equipment defects.
Must be medically fit to work in a mining environment.
Must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays where required.
