We are looking for a reliable, experienced Generator Technician to join our team. If you take pride in your work and have strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills, we would like to hear from you!
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Service, maintain and repair diesel generators.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults.
• Inspect engines, alternators, fuel systems and cooling systems.
• Troubleshoot generator controllers and automatic transfer switches (ATS).
• Assist with generator installations, testing and commissioning.
• Attend client sites for scheduled maintenance and emergency breakdowns.
• Complete accurate job cards, inspection reports and service records.
• Follow safe working practices and provide professional customer service
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
✅ Previous experience in diesel generator servicing, maintenance and repairs.
✅ Good understanding of diesel engines and generator electrical systems.
✅ Knowledge of controllers such as Deep Sea, SmartGen or ComAp.
✅ Understanding of ATS operation and generator starting systems.
✅ Ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic equipment.
✅ Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel.
✅ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
✅ Willingness to work overtime and attend emergency call-outs.
✅ Reliable, punctual and committed to quality workmanship.
ADVANTAGES
• A relevant trade qualification as a diesel mechanic, electrician or millwright.
• Experience with different generator brands and sizes.
• Knowledge of solar, inverter and generator integration.
• Experience with load testing and commissioning.
